What to Bring:
Mae Khachan hot springs: first stop will be a relaxing break after a long drive between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai
By soaking your feet in the foot-soaking pond, you can take time to relax and let the warm water soothe your toes.
Boiling your eggs in the hot spring might not sound familiar for you, but trust me, it’s really fun.
White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) Rong Khun Temple is unique from other temples in that it has been constructed entirely in a radiant white color with sparking reflections from mirrored glass mosaics embedded in the white plaster. The temple is the idea of Mr. Chalermchai Kositpipat, one of Thailand most renowned artists, who wanted to build a temple all in white to signify the purity of Lord Buddha. The artist continues to puts his religious belief and desire to enrich Buddhism in Thailand into his contemporary art design.
This Blue temple will certainly entertain you as much as the famous white temple!
Beautiful architecture and the gold really compliments the blue.
If you like the thai temples then this one you should not miss
Red Temple (Wat Huay Pla Kang) The final stop on this tour is optional, but highly encouraged.Wat Huay Pla Kang is a temple in Chiang Rai, just as unique and interesting as its colorful counterparts. Inside the temple are statues carved of sandalwood, including a massive two-story statue of Guan Yin, the largest in the entire country. Look out for Chinese deities intermixed with Thai-style Buddhas, all arranged around the large center room underneath the enormous chedi.
But the real draw of this temple is the Guan Yin monument nearby. This gigantic monument is 23 stories high, and for a small fee visitors can take an elevator to the very top to look out over the countryside. Walk around the top floor to admire artwork representing mythological creatures and scenes from Buddhist cosmology. Peek out of different windows for different viewpoints of villages, farms, and far away mountains.
If you are an enthusiastic temple-goer or just an architecture lover, then when in Chiang Rai, you should not miss a visit to the breathtaking Blue Temple – Wat Rong Suea Ten, a very new member in the colorful temple map of Chiang Rai, besides the White Temple and the Black House. the Blue Temple is built in Thai art style by a student of Mr. Chalermchai Kositpipat (the national artist who built the White Temple), therefore, the interior is reminiscent of the White Temple’s design with the kaleidoscopic murals and artworks about the Buddha’s stories. Wat Rong Suea Ten is mostly painted in an eye-catching vibrant blue with overlays of gold features and myriad colorful statues.
